Meet EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) Board of Directors Vice President, Amanda Gregory. Amanda is an extremely active board member who has served on the EEF board for the past 8 years. During her tenure, she has served many roles such as Board President, Vice President, Treasurer, Cycle EastLake and Run Committee Member, and Taste
of EastLake Committee Member.
Originally from a small rural town in Illinois, Amanda and her high school sweetheart Master Chief, Jeremy Gregory, and their two children were brought to San Diego by the Navy 10 years ago. Before their big transfer to San Diego, Amanda researched vigorously and found the community of EastLake. They all fell in love with the neighborhood and its schools and have lived here ever since. Amanda is also the Branch Manager at the US Bank in EastLake and has been with them since she moved here in 2005.
Amanda’s children enrolled in the EastLake schools upon moving to the area. Her son, Austin, a 2014 Eastlake High graduate, is now a sophomore at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. Her daughter, Aryn, is a sophomore at Eastlake High.
“I had witnessed the impact the EEF had made in the schools’ technology programs while my kids were attending school here and wanted to be a part of it. I am excited to be a part of such an amazing organization that is committed to ensuring our kids have the best of what our continually changing technology has to offer,” says Amanda. “I immediately wanted to get involved in the community that I was already living and working in and the EEF was a perfect fit.”
Amanda’s favorite thing to do is work out! Some of her favorites include: Pilates, Crossfit or running with her German Shepard, Murphy, around EastLake. She says she works out to keep up with her second favorite hobby, baking! She makes incredible cupcakes and is always found sharing them with her co-workers, family and friends.
When asked what her favorite EEF event is Amanda says, “The Taste of EastLake. I love that it brings together the community to raise funds for technology at the EastLake schools all while getting to try amazing new food. I also love the variety of restaurants, wineries, and breweries that come together to share what they have to offer! It is truly a great event to experience!”
