EASTLAKE + A Positive Podcast to Launch Mach 9
EastLake+ Podcast Series Brings Community into Focus
The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) announces the launch of EASTLAKE +, a positive podcast. This new podcast series will focus a spotlight on the people and organizations that are making a positive difference in the greater EastLake area. With each episode, you’ll hear from community members, educational leaders, and students to learn more about the people, programs, resources and services that make this a wonderful area to learn, live and work.
Beginning March 9, EASTLAKE + will be available through the EEF website eefkids.org, and shortly after on various streaming services. “Our goal is to highlight the positive and provide insight into the education community. We think a podcast will be entertaining and informative. It’s also an easy way to connect even for those with a busy schedule,” said Elaine Elefante-Leano, Board President of the EastLake Educational Foundation.
While the content and channels will grow and evolve, EASTLAKE + is launching with curated content. Channels include:
- ● Future in Focus, which is hosted by Foundation Board President Elefante-Leano and will highlight college and career preparation.
- ● Titan Talks, which is hosted by Eastlake High staff members Vanessa Brinkman and Mariana Hughes and will catch up with Alumni & Friends.
- ● Spotlight Education, which is hosted by Foundation executives and special guest hosts and will share highlights from around our education community. The first segment will feature Eastlake High Principal Ricardo Cooke, Ed.D.The Foundation Board funded the creation of a state-of-the-art podcast studio on the campus of Eastlake High School where the EEF offices are located. Emmy-award winning news producer Mario Sevilla donated his expertise in setting up the studio and producing the first segments.
“EEF is excited to bring this new podcast series to the community,” said EEF Executive Director Janet Francis. “Each day I come across students, teachers, and community members that are inspiring. I hear resources for students that may not be known by many. I speak to businesses and organizations that help our schools. I meet with teachers and staff members who educate kids and are helping to build the workforce of tomorrow. We wanted to create something that honors the good news in our micro-community.”
The community is invited to give EASTLAKE + a listen and join in the conversation about the good work taking place in Chula Vista and beyond.
