The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) recently awarded a combined amount of $144,600 to fund technology for the 2015-2016 school year; $19,100 was awarded to each school: EastLake Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Arroyo Vista Charter School, EastLake Middle School and EastLake High School. And an additional $30,000 in “extra credit” was awarded to three schools that participated by volunteering for EEF events in different capacities.
“Because technological advancements are rapid and continually changing, our local schools may not be able keep pace with these changes without the special funding by the EEF . The EEF is thrilled to bridge gap to keep our children up to speed with today’s technological advancements in the classroom,” says EEF Executive Director, Nicole Graichen.
Funding will be used for many different technology related items as each school’s needs differ greatly. Some of the much needed funded items include: Interactive Whiteboards/Smart Boards, iPads, wireless capability for campuses, science kits, computer labs, online grading capability for teachers and parents, technology specialists, and more.
