The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) recently awarded a combined amount of $120,000 to fund technology for the 2014-2015 school year; $16,000 was awarded to each school: EastLake Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Arroyo Vista Charter School, EastLake Middle School and EastLake High School. And an additional $20,000 in “extra credit” was awarded to three schools that participated by volunteering for EEF events in different capacities.
“Technological advancements are rapid and ever changing, and without the special funding by the EEF, our local schools and children could not keep pace with these changes. The EEF is thrilled to bridge gap to keep our children up to speed with today’s technology.,” says EEF Executive Director, Nicole Graichen.
Funding will be used for many different technology related items as each school’s needs differ greatly. Some of the much needed funded items include: Interactive Whiteboards/Smart Boards, iPads, wireless capability for campuses, science kits, computer labs, online grading capability for teachers and parents, technology specialists and more.
