The Martin Contreras “Coach C” Memorial Fund
For over two decades Martin Contreras was a teacher and a coach at Eastlake High School. He was affectionately called Coach C, and especially loved coaching football. He was very proud of his son, Christopher, who excelled as a receiver for the Titans.
Sadly, he lost his battle with cancer on May 9th, 2022.
Martin had a particular devotion for the students that were often overlooked and forgotten. He taught special education in room 204 and established relationships with students that faced a variety of challenges. He was always available to encourage them to succeed regardless of the challenges they faced.
Martin made it a habit to find out which students had financial challenges and he would raise money each year to ensure a student in need could attend Prom, Grad Night, or receive a yearbook.
Martin started the BBQ club on campus which offered many students opportunities outside of athletics or other popular campus clubs.
To keep Martin’s legacy alive, a memorial fund has been created to provide support students in need of financial help attend Prom, Grad Night or participate in other school activities. Also, scholarship funds will be available for a select number of students in the BBQ club that plan to continue their education in college or a trade school.
