The EastLake Education Foundation (EEF) today announced the retirement of its Executive Director, Janet Francis, and the appointment of Mary Rose Peralta as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective February 4, 2026.
After more than eight years of dedicated service, Francis is retiring following a tenure marked by significant growth and impact for students, educators, and the broader Eastlake community.
“I am so grateful to the community of volunteers, sponsors, and donors who have invested their time, talent, and financial support to carry the EEF since 1995. I am honored to have been given the opportunity to lead this foundation and help students and educators for more than eight seasons,” said Francis.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors expressed deep gratitude for Francis’s leadership and unwavering commitment that well-positioned EEF for continued success and long-term sustainability.
“Janet’s leadership, vision, and unwavering dedication have left an indelible mark on the students, educators, and families of the Eastlake community,” said Board President Therese Caballes.
Succeeding Francis, Mary Rose Peralta brings more than 30 years of experience in education and community engagement. A retired administrator, Peralta served as principal in both middle and high schools. She is well-known as a bridge builder, forging strong community relationships and aligning closely with the Foundation’s mission to collaborate with the community to provide resources to schools to support technology and innovation. Peralta’s involvement in many local organizations will strengthen community partnerships and impact.
“I am honored and excited to step into this role and continue leading the EEF in expanding resources and supports for students in our public schools,” said Peralta. “As Executive Director, I look forward to deepening our partnerships with the community and educational leaders to further advance the EEF’s vision and mission.”
The EEF Board of Directors looks forward to Peralta’s leadership in advancing the Foundation’s strategic plan and vision.
