This year six students (one from each school) in a graduating/or promoting class from local EastLake schools had the opportunity to receive a technology scholarship from the EEF. Students were invited to write an essay about their goals in life and why they think they deserve to win this scholarship. The foundation received 64 excellent applications from deserving students.
The EEF awarded five iPads to outstanding students in the promoting classes at each school and a laptop computer for one deserving graduating senior who began college this fall.
“The EEF is thrilled to have been able to offer this opportunity to students this year. We all had very difficult decisions to make because we received so many outstanding applications,” says EEF Executive Director, Nicole Graichen.
The EEF will be offering a similar scholarship opportunity to local EastLake school students in the coming months, so stay tuned.
This year’s winners are as follows: Arroyo Vista Elementary- Louis Jace Costa, Olympic View- Elisa Vasquez, EastLake Elementary- Arturo Osorio Jr., Salt Creek Elementary- Ethan R. Clements, ELM/AVM Middle School- Elleanor Wong, EL High School- Alyssa Tabula
