As someone who has specialized in building strong communities over the past 15+ years, I recognize the importance of engaging the greater community to partner in developing and enhancing the educational opportunities locally.
Therese Caballes has been in the credit union industry for nearly 20 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance from San Diego State University in 2001. Upon graduation Therese knew she wanted to pursue her career in the financial services industry. She began her career at San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) that resulted into a 14-year tenure. During that time, she held various roles including consumer lending specialist, mortgage loan originator, assistant branch manager, and branch manager positions. Her determination, commitment to service and leadership led to her current role as Vice President, Regional Manager for North Island Credit Union.
At North Island Credit Union, Therese manages 11 branches throughout San Diego. She focuses her passion for developing and supporting her branch managers in their community involvement. Most recently, prior to COVID-19, North Island Credit Union sponsored the Taste of Eastlake Event. She saw first-hand the commitment, excitement and purpose of the foundation. It was an honor and pleasure to partner with the foundation in support of Eastlake schools. Therese is extremely excited for the opportunity to serve as a board member of the Eastlake Educational Foundation.
Therese was born and raised in San Diego. Her hobbies include reading, walking, and spending time with her husband (high school sweethearts) and their 9-year old son. They love to go bike riding in Coronado and enjoy the beach during the weekends as a family.
