The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) recently awarded a combined amount of $150,000 to fund technology for the 2012-2013 school year; $20,000 was awarded to each school: EastLake Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Arroyo Vista Charter School, EastLake Middle School and EastLake High School. And an additional $30,000 in “extra credit” was awarded to three schools that participated by volunteering for EEF events in different capacities.
“For the first time EEF was able to award an additional $30,000 to local EastLake schools. We understand that there is a dire need in the schools for technology funding and will continue to work hard to raise money for these important educational tools.” says EEF Executive Director, Nicole Graichen.
Funding will be used for many different technology related items as each school’s needs differ greatly. Some of the much needed funded items include: Interactive Whiteboards/Smart Boards, iPads, wireless capability for campuses, science kits, computer labs, online grading capability for teachers and parents, technology specialists and more.
