Chula Vista, CA – The EastLake Educational Foundation (EEF) recently awarded a combined amount of $120,000 to fund technology; $20,000 was awarded to each school including EastLake Elementary, Salt Creek Elementary, Olympic View Elementary, Arroyo Vista Charter School, EastLake Middle School and EastLake High School.
“We are extremely excited to provide this much needed funding to our local schools. Technology will help students acquire the skills they need to survive in a complex, highly technological world,” says EEF Executive Director, Nicole Graichen. “As state funding cuts for education continue to deepen we may experience a nearly $10 million reduction in revenue that would necessitate devastating cuts to local school programs and services, our schools are relying more heavily on EEF to help close the funding gap.”
Funding will be used for many different technology related items as each school’s needs differ greatly. Some of the much needed funded items include Interactive Whiteboards/Smart Boards, iPads, wireless capability for campuses, science kits, computer labs, online grading capability for teachers and parents, technology specialists and more.
